I have a fun competition for subscribers this week. See ‘Artificial Intelligence presents Movie Remakes’ below. All will be explained!
I’m really enjoying drawing my robots, so great to focus on AI this week. There’s a big debate at the moment about the use of AI for creative purposes. I’m against, obviously, but it’s good material for cartoons, at least until I’m made obsolete.
My In The News cartoons this week all centre around the UK’s Covid Enquiry, and mainly feature Boris Johnson, but with a cameo from Donald Trump. It was interesting drawing them together - Boris the scruffy buffoon and Donald … the orange buffoon.
I thought I’d touch on Boris’ trip to the US where he made a lot of money doing speeches (instead of doing his job as an elected MP), and the news that the taxpayer will continue to cover all of his legal bills - a kind of Legal Aid for the Tory elite. Also covered are the missing WhatsApp messages demanded by the Covid Enquiry, and the Prime Minister finding a ‘squirrel’ in the latest AI fright fest. It’s less depressing drawing robots.

JUST-FOR-FUN COMPETITION
Can you name all four original movies in chronological order?
Don’t write your answers in the comments below - send me your answers directly by return email or via Linktree.
Correct entries will enter a draw and the winner (picked out of my hat) will get a mention in a follow-up single-panel cartoon. Don’t forget to include the ‘display’ name you would like to appear in the cartoon, e.g. full name, or first name only (full name would work better, but it’s not essential).
Don’t delay! Competition closes on Sunday at midnight (BST), 04 June 2023.
Boris Johnson was on tour in the U$, as we learned of more #PartyGate revelations, this time at Chequers, and it seems we’ll be footing his legal bill again.
Boris meets Donald Trump in the US. Meanwhile, the official UK Covid enquiry has demanded to see his WhatsApp messages.
Look, squirrel! The UK Government uses the latest concerns about artificial intelligence to deflect from their Covid enquiry cover-up.
And finally … Thursday was ‘Dinosaur Day’ and ‘Wear a Dress Day’. Couldn’t resist.
Thanks for reading and subscribing.

If you know someone who might like my cartoons, why not share your email and encourage them to subscribe? We carbon-based cartoonists need all the support we can get.
Hasta pronto,
