Hi, and welcome to my weekly newsletter.
Thanks for reading. If you haven’t already, you can subscribe for free to receive this weekly email and never miss a cartoon. It’s the best way to follow my work and connect. More on my about page.
These three cartoons were inspired by friends over the past few weeks (you know who you are).
Behind the screen
I met a retired friend recently for soup - not a drink, but soup - and he said he liked to get there early, before all the ‘old’ people. Actually, I really enjoyed the soup, and the company.
Another friend (with pet allergies) joked that his family had threatened to replace him with a dog - at least, I think he was joking.
And, we discovered from a recent DNA test that one of my closest friends may be part vampire. Nosferatooth.
Thanks to my unwitting amigos for this week’s inspiration. Any character resemblance to actual individuals is, of course, entirely coincidental.
[Note for non-native English speakers: ‘cock-a-leekie’ is a soup traditionally made in Scotland with chicken and leeks.]
In the pipeline
I intend to share the first of a new series of cartoons next week, likely to be a 4-panel strip. Collectively, this will be in a square format, which is apparently the preferred image shape of social media platforms.
Before you go
Thanks for reading and subscribing. I’m still waiting to be ‘discovered’, so if you know someone who may like my work, feel free to share.
Hasta pronto,
Iain
